This piece was handmade in Korea with a unique woven canvas and vegan leather leather called Hanji (121). Hanji Leather is a vegetable-based traditional handmade Korean paper, that is made of mulberry tree fibers. Hanji has been broadly used in people's daily lives since its origins in ancient Korea from around the 3rd century, being utilized for documents, wallpaper, clothes, household goods, etc. Paper mulberry trees grow well on rocky mountainsides in Korea, Hanji is not only a sustainable material but does not produce environmentally harmful substances such as ammonia and formaldehyde during the manufacturing processes. It is a leather that is naturally 99.9% anti-bacterial, light weight, has a deodorizing effect, breathable, heat-resistant, quick-drying, and water repellent. Hanji leather is a substitute for traditional animal and plastic-coated synthetic leathers. It is made by combining Korean Hanji paper, which is extracted from the mulberry tree, with cotton fabric and is finished with a special silicon-based coating that is safe for close contact with humans. The bag is created with eco-friendly material and crafted sustainably in Seoul, South Korea.
